Adams Land and Cattle (ALCC) recently sponsored its 8th annual Giving Tree Program, where employees fulfill holiday wish lists by donating Christmas gifts to children and families enrolled in the local Sixpence program. Their efforts resulted in nearly 250 gifts for over 32 local families in need, including 80 children.
ALCC employees have been supporting local families enrolled in Sixpence through the Christmas Giving Tree Program for 8 years. The Sixpence program is an early childhood education program for children living in Custer County, and is coordinated through a partnership between Broken Bow Public Schools, Central Plains Center for Services and Central Nebraska Community Services.
“The gifts have a tremendous impact as the holiday season can be a difficult time of year for these families, as parents want to do what they can but may not have the means. The gifts of clothing, toys, and books are impactful and uplifting, not only during the holiday season but throughout the year,” said Nancy Ferguson.
Jennifer Gestwite, Executive Assistant for Adams Land and Cattle, who coordinates the giving tree said, “It has been a tremendous honor for ALCC to have the opportunity to help families in our community and bring a smile to a child’s face during this special time of year. I want to thank all of the employees that have helped make this possible through their extraordinary generosity.”
